Come dine with us

We had our friends around on Sunday for lunch. Lee'd been planning the menu for weeks and he finally decided on the menu last week. Carri-Ann requested we post her a copy of the menu, so that she could read it out 'Come Dine With Me' style for the camera. Sadly, I don't have any video footage...

Lee decided on a starter from Raymond Blanc's Le Manoir recipe book. It's an asparagus and leek mousse. He was cursing his decision and this mousse when he realized how fiddly and time consuming it was. It was delicious!
Lee's own confit duck leg and petit pois a la francaise. Oh my. This was amazing and far too much food.
Another recipe from Raymond Blanc. This was a lemon mousse in a marzipan parcel with a syrupy cherry sauce. I think we all whimpered our way through eating this.

By the end of the evening, the kitchen was under a greasy layer of duck fat, as were the insides of our arteries...and we were all fat and full and happy.

They promised to score us in the taxi on the way home and to film that too, and if it did happen, I'll come back and post the videos here.
