She's just the best :)

Dada Dede Dadee

Our sweet girl says 'dada'
over and over (and over) again.

The day the sun came out in Belfast (and indeed all of Northern Ireland!)

We had two days of sunshine!!
We spent yesterday outside enjoying our summer.

We started the day with a fry at Fed & Watered
along Belfast's waterfront,
and then we walked across the Lagan
to where the maritime festival was happening
over at the Titanic Quarter.

We strolled along next to the river and the tall ships,
laughed at the pirates and the seagulls
who were pestering people eating their
takeaway food from the market.

The continental market was also on at city hall,
and it was such a nice day we walked over there too,
just enjoying the sunshine.

We spent the rest of the afternoon in our garden
eating crisps and bread, paté, hummus and cheese
and drinking some AA Badenhorst chenin from the Swartland.

We woke up this morning hoping for some more sunshine...
instead, it's overcast and chilly and looking like it's about to rain.
Ho hum.

Aunty Janette and James visit

Janette had the day off so her and James popped over for the afternoon.
It's been a while since the kids have been together
and they're definitely paying more attention to each other than they did before.
Oh Amy.
She found James' dummy on the mat, picked it up and started to chew and suck on it.
She would never take her own dummy.

Chelsea buns and toast crumbs

I baked some chelsea buns in the week
and Amy kept me company in the kitchen.
She snacked on toast fingers
and was so excited...she loves toast!
She had crumbs from the top of her head to the floor all around her.
Look at the state of that messy baby!

So that's what my snacks (and breakfasts!) have looked like for the last couple of days.
They're all gone now.

Blue skies & sunshine at the lough shore

Mother-in-law came round this afternoon
to sew some blackout lining on to Amy's nursery curtains.
It was such a good day (19 degrees!!)
so we went to the lough shore in Antrim.

It's been an age since I was last at the Antrim lough shore!

We had a little picnic next to the water.
And then we went for a cup of tea at the café.

The start of the summer braais

We had a braai yesterday.
Every so often the sun came out from behind the clouds
and it wasn't too cold.
There was lamb chops and beef sausages,
burgers, chicken wings,
curried bananas,
bread sticks and tzatziki,
crisps and sambals,
and then tea and milk tart!
Oh, we did eat well!
