The sun came out in Bangor

But it was still pretty chilly.

The three of us hitched a ride over to Bangor with mother and father-in-law
in their big green van today.
We stretched our legs and ate whippy ice-cream
and then we all got back in the van
and drove to Crossgar for a wine tasting at JN Wines.
Adi Badenhorst was over from South Africa
and we do like our South African wines.

I do like a seaside town too.

We played outside

I dragged the picnic blanket outside this afternoon and
we got some fresh air in the garden.
It was a wee bit chilly, but we wrapped up warm,
and Amy didn't seem to mind much.
 She's up
 and she's down
I loved those books as a kid.
When we were in South Africa in March,
my mom dug them out of a box and gave them to me to take home with me.

A National Trust Weekend

It's National Trust weekend (happy National Trust weekend!!). Lee printed off two free entry vouchers and yesterday we took a drive over to Mount Stewart and Castle Ward. Spring has definitely sprung around here (finally) and everywhere daffodils were blooming, the sun shone and the weather was glorious (glorious!)

After a pleasant walk around the lake at Mount Stewart we got the ferry from Portaferry and spent our afternoon at Castle Ward. We had tea and Amy had her lunch (yummy fruit pot and some banana in her new 'cleva feeder').
How big is our baby looking?!

Today

Lee's mum and sister came to visit us today.
Kerri brought her new puppy Sophie along too,
so we spent the day with two babies!

After Amy woke from a nap
(prematurely, damn workmen outside her bedroom window!)
we took a walk along the loughshore at Jordanstown.

Apart from a bit of wind, it was a lovely afternoon out at the seaside.
We stopped for a cup of tea and a bun, and then Amy got restless so we went home.
I can't get enough of her in that hat!
Oh Sophie with your puppy dog eyes!

A little break through - long may it last!!

She sleeps!!

Last night Amy slept from 9pm until 5:30am
and she didn't waken once.

Thank you baby!!!

I, however, woke at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep again,
lying awake waiting for her to cry.
It's okay, I'll take my 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep and be thankful for it.
Today is a good day!

Carrots. She looked so disappointed, but she did eat them.

Around here lately

Little Miss Amy has started a bit of solid food! Up until now she has been exclusively breastfed but we felt it was time to introduce a little bit of 'first foods' baby rice. And oh my goodness she loves it!

Her slightly fuller tummy hasn't, however, helped her to sleep any longer/better.

Of course it hasn't.

I'm excited to start this next little adventure with her and can't wait to try a whole load of different foods and see her reactions. So brace yourselves for a lot more photos of Amy enjoying (or not so much enjoying) her dinners!

We've been spending lots of time researching towns/villages and restaurants in Tuscany for our October family holiday...ohmygoodness I'm excited for some Italy! October doesn't seem too far away, but when I think that Amy will be almost a year old when we go away, that makes it seem a whole lot longer!

Almost time to start thinking about first birthday parties. I'm going to have to find her some friends!! Oh baby, don't be like your mother...make friends!

In other 'news', the washing machine has packed up, leaving me with a pile of soaking wet stinking clothes and not a notion of what to do with them.
