A visit in Ballymena & the Fun Factory

Amy & I spent the day in Ballymena yesterday. Nana, James, Amy and I went to the Fun Factory in Pennybridge for a couple of hours. Amy wasn't so sure about it at the start, but after she'd had some lunch she started to enjoy herself more. She went nuts in the ball pool and she loved driving around in the Little Tikes cars.
Do I have any food in my teeth? (is what it says on her bib). Oh Amy...where are your teeth?
After the Fun Factory we did a spot of shopping in the town with the babies. They both fell asleep in their buggies after all the excitement. I was pretty ready for a nap myself.

Weekend BBQ's and back to the beach!

We were around at Aidan and Carri-Anne's house on Friday for a BBQ.
We splashed in the pool, ate well and played frisbee.
Later, Amy napped in her buggy while we sat in the last patch of sun against the wall
and ate biscuits and drank tea while the sun was starting to set.

We were at the beach again yesterday.
Back to Portrush, and this time the sea was warm!
I got to have a swim in the north sea! It was glorious! I love the seaside...
and so does Amy!
She loves the water and the sand!
She's all smiles and laughs and her little legs just don't stop kicking.
Little sweetheart.
We drove over to Ballintoy to see Lee's mom and dad.
Lee's dad was painting and we took Amy back onto the sand
with her bucket and spade.
Lee's mom took her into the water for a while and
Lee and I took a walk around to another beach
where the water washed seaweed up around our legs.
We ate ice-cream and walked around the harbour.

Today is a bit cloudy, but even if it's cold and rainy now until next year,
we've had a great summer :)

A trip up the north coast

The great weather continues!! Yesterday, on a whim, we decided to drive up to Portstewart and Portrush and take Amy to the beach. We packed her bucket and spade and some beach towels and off we went!

We first stopped off at the kiddie park in Portstewart. Amy and Lee built sandcastles and Amy played in the sand, kicking it all around her.

We later drove over to Portrush where the beach and the sea was packed! We ate our lunch, splashed in the sea and finished off with ice creams and a little walk along the beach.

Janette invited us around for a bbq on our way back home, so we stopped in Ballymena. While the kids splashed in James paddling pool and fought over balls, we ate steaks, burgers and sausages and salads.

She's off!

Amy is crawling!
On Friday while I was chatting to Yvonne on the phone up in the nursery,
Amy took off down the passage on her hands and knees.

Since then, there's been no putting her down on the mat to play
and finding her in the same spot 5 minutes later.

She's been following me around the house like a little puppy,
grinning up at me and giggling.
She's such a little sweetie.

Here she is coming down the hallway...

Splash! & her little yellow windmill

After our trip to the zoo on Saturday, we came home and Lee lit the braai.
I filled Amy's wee splash pool and got her into her little swimming costume (!!)
and we spent some time in the garden enjoying the sunshine :)

Hooray for the hottest days of the year in Northern Ireland!!

A trip to Belfast Zoo

Saturday was hot and the pollen count high. So it made sense to go out and spend the morning taking a walk uphill around Belfast zoo. We got a year membership as we live just down the road and it's a good place to go for a walk (and a day ticket is too expensive for just one day).

Amy didn't want to sit in her buggy for very long,
so it was good that Lee remembered to pack the Baby Bjorn.

Lee carried Amy and I carried my scrunched up tissues and hankies.
Damn hay fever :(

Amy wasn't too interested in the animals, maybe she'll get more out of it the next time we go.

She was more impressed with the fake penguin than the real ones.
