This happy little girl is all packed for her holidays!

I can't wait to get some sunshine on my skin.
We've all been sick, Lee's finally gone and got it too, just in time for holidays.

We fly out tomorrow afternoon.
It's been too long since all of my family was together and I can't wait to see everyone again.

This year

I have no resolutions.
Not really.

I should probably eat better.

My diet has been predominantly sugar based lately (lately?!). Sugar and Amy's left overs. Bits and pieces of potato waffle, clementine segments, peanut butter toast fingers.
And I've been sickly. Bugs and colds and generally feeling unwell.
I've had a fairly kak time of it lately.

I'm going back to work this year. Amy has a place secured at a day care and I'm pretty sure she's going to love it.
She's such a sociable little girl.
She must've got that from her daddy.
(she certainly didn't get it from me)

We have weddings this year. Weddings and hen parties and flights to England.

Friends are coming over to visit us. Friends not seen for a good few years! The Keatley family are talking about visiting Northern Ireland. Also Noleen and Chris are also talking about coming over. Hooray!!!

It's been a long time since I saw Kerry. A lot has happened since I first moved over to this United Kingdom and she picked me up from Gatwick airport.
I went a bit crazy for a while.
(I went a lot crazy for a while.)

This year I plan to become a British citizen.

We will see the my whole family on one continent this year. Month!
We will braai, catch up, introduce our little girl to her aunty, uncle and cousins. We're going back to the Cape to taste wine. We're going to eat big big steaks and sit in the sun. We're going to swim. Amy has water wings and she will like the pool.

We have another O'Boyle family holiday planned in Donegal.

I'm going to carry on trying to be less serious.

We have bigger plans for 2014 too.

It's going to be a busy year.

Last weekend, Lee took us to W5 at the Odyssey. Amy loved the big dolls house, the gears and the big posters of bunnies and ladybirds. We had fun with the coke bottle rocket and the weather station (photos of that are not for posting...I make the geekiest looking weather girl evah) The Christmas display was pretty good too.

A new years walk on the beach

We stayed over with Lee's family again last night. I fell asleep on the couch some time around 11 o'clock and was woken up a bit before 12 with a glass of bubbly. We watched some celebrations on the telly, said 'happy new year' all around and then went to bed.

Amy was up at six.

We all went to Portrush in the van this morning. Amy and James sat up front with Shane, excited to see the countryside go past them from the front seats.

We walked on the beach in the drizzle, splashing in the water. Amy fell on her bum as the sea was washing up and got soaked. She didn't seem to concerned.

We stopped at the hotel for our lunch. Amy shared my battered cod and some of nanna's chicken pasta. The fresh air and exercise caught up with us on the way back to Ballymena and the babies fell asleep in the front and I dozed in the back.

We're home again and it's good to be back. Life is about to go back to normal for the next week and then we're away off on our holiday.

Three weeks of my side of the family, sunshine, friends, good food and wine.

I cannot wait to be there!
