A drive around the Antrim Coast

It's been a busy week!

Noleen and Chris arrived on Monday. Lee picked them up from the airport and brought them home. After they had a chance to freshen up, have a cup of tea and get their suitcases upstairs, we got the bus in to Belfast. The spring continental market was on so we took a wee dander around there and stopped for a bratwurst and drink.

On Tuesday we took the bus back in to the city centre again. We did a walking tour of the Titanic Quarter, took a Black Taxi tour around the Falls and the Shankill, drank some Guinness in Kelly's Cellars, had our dinner in Mourne Seafood Bar then back to Kelly's for some fiddlee-dee music.

Wednesday was an early start. An Ulster fry and up and away up around the East and North coast of Northern Ireland. We stopped at Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge. We walked over across the bridge to the island on the other side and once our legs had stopped wobbling we stood and admired the views.

Then Chris asked Noleen to marry him!!

He'd told us his plan the day before they arrived and it was so hard not to spoil the surprise!

She said yes and they celebrated on the small cove in Ballintoy with a glass of champagne.

On Thursday we were at the Ulster Folk park, then some souvenir shopping and home for an earlier night.

Lee's getting pretty good at being a Northern Ireland tour guide!
(if you're not lucky enough to know Lee, you can always get the a Paddywagon tour from Dublin or Belfast, I've not used them myself, but have heard that they're one of the better tour buses...)

Friday we were all away to the airport early for Leanne and Johns wedding on Saturday. I spent the night in a hotel in Milton Keynes with Leanne while Lee, Nola and Chris were away in Daventry at the Heart of England hotel. Saturday morning, Lea, Rachel, Elise and I got our hair done and then we were away to Dodmoor House and preparing to walk down the isle.

It was the prettiest wedding and so much fun. Leanne was beautiful, the details were perfect, the food was delicious. Photos of the wedding to follow soon!

Also, more photos and stories from our Sunday in Hambledon and Marlow to come...

Friday evening

It was so warm today, Amy got her arms and legs out!
Hooray for the weekend! Also, hooray for the week off we both have!
I think it's going to be a good one!

A weekend in England

I was away in England this weekend drinking tea out of pretty cups and eating fancy cakes. Rachel and I have been frantically emailing each other for the past few months trying to get Leanne's hen party organized and it was finally here this weekend.
I flew over first thing on Friday morning, Leanne picked me up at Luton and we went to Milton Keynes to try on bridesmaid dresses and drink cups of tea in her old (now Rachels) living room.
We picked up Tania and we all ate waffles at the Waffle House in St Albans. Not quite so big as Milky Lane waffles, but just as delicious, warm and syrupy.
In the morning we got ourselves dressed, gathered up the gift bags and hopped on the tube to Covent Garden.
Sixteen women sat around a table at BB Bakery for afternoon tea, eating and chattering and taking a few photos.
We watched 'Once' the musical at the Phoenix theatre and ducked in to a Salsa bar to avoid the wind and the rain and we called off the treasure hunt.
We had dinner at the Soho Bar and Kitchen before moving on to Madame Jojos for some dancing to fifties music.
On Sunday we walked around an antique and vintage fair at Alexandra Palace and then I was flying back home again.
The weekend went by really fast! I think everyone enjoyed themselves, Leanne seemed to, and I certainly did.
Now, less than two weeks until the big wedding day!
