Amy is in school full time this week. 9.00 until 14.00 is a long day for a 4 year old!
After school yesterday she had a good run around the playground with her friends. It was a sunny and warm day, so I didn't mind hanging around and waiting for her. She was all eager to do her homework when we got home. Phonics letters 'P' and 'N' and practicing writing 'p's and drawing pictures of pigs :)
I hope her love of school work continues!
Tom and I are trying to get a new routine to our days now that we have all morning together.
His naps need brought earlier. He misses Amy as the two of them have been playing so much better together.
Yesterday I took him to the library for their rhythm and rhyme session. He rode his little motor bike around the park and kicked some of the leaves lying on the ground.
I thought I'd give him a go at potty training, but I just don't think I can do it right now. I think I'll just try and enjoy our (hopefully) calmer and easier days for a while before I start worrying about cleaning up all the pee's and poo's out of the carpets and soft furnishings...
We spent another fun, hot and relaxing week in Portugal. We were there in 2015 and loved it and this time was no different. Well, it was a little different. It was hotter and the children were a wee bit bigger.
And we had air conditioning.
We ate loads of piri piri chicken and fresh fish and drank a whole lot of vinho verde.
We let the kids stay up way later than at home and played on the beach when the sun went down.
Miraculously the children decided that they actually like each other and got on really well together. They shared a room and they slept! It was so sweet listening to them chat with each other before they fell asleep at night!
'The scary mans' The Caretos de Podence were at the festival for two nights and terrified Amy and Tom. Poor Tom had laughed at them from a distance until one came up to him and he screamed, terrified. He spoke of them for the rest of the holiday and when we got home.
